Local Wins $10K in Mega Millions

The earnings came from a winning Mega Millions ticket.

A Smithtown man took home $10,000 as a winner in the New York Lottery's Mega Millions.

The New York Lottery announced Monday that Lawrence Millman won the $10,000 during the drawing held Oct. 30. Millman bought the winning ticket at the Two J's Sunoco station, located at 377 Vets Highway in Smithtown.

Millman joins the ranks of numerous locals who have also brought home $10,000 and up in lotto earnings – Frederick Tate of Smithtown purchased a winning "Cashword Doubler" scratch-off lottery ticket and won $10,000 in August of this year; Tina Sferrazza of Smithtown won $10,000 in New York Mega Millions back in July 2010; John Donohue of St James, won $11,494 on Take Five in October 2010; and Grace Mayer of Nesconset won $10,000 on Mega Millions in October 2010.
