As one bar closes, another bar is getting ready to pour its first drinks in Nesconset.
Boulevards Sports Bar & Grill is quickly being built on the corner of Francis St and Smithtown Boulevard, opposite Borella's Wholesale Nursery and farm stand. Construction workers were seen working on the brick and stone exterior of the building on Tuesday afternoon.
A large red-and-white sign announcing the new bar's opening comes shortly after the closure of the nearby Blacksmith Tavern, a little less than one mile northwest along Smithtown Boulevard.
The new business may face competition from several bars and pubs dotted along Smithtown Boulevard in Nesconset, including Kelli's Grille & Wing House which is less than a year old.
