PHOTOS: St. James Trees Couldn't Withstand Irene

Streets throughout St. James were littered with downed trees, branches leaves and more; local businesses hit with debris.

Hurricane Irene's wrath was felt by the trees throughout St. James as streets are now cluttered with uprooted trees, branches, leaves and debris. Power lines have been knocked down or still have trees dangling from them, trees are resting upon local businesses and more.

"Why are Smithtown teachers continuing to pay for school supplies out of their ownRead More pocket?" Since when? Ever see the big list of supplies kids get in their folders at the end of the year for them to bring in next year? I think you're talking about the wrong school district.
