Nesconset residents said they were opposed to the facility because the additional traffic would make an already accident-prone area more dangerous. At the same time, many thought the building would not fit the look of the community.

Kings Park and Commack residents attended the Town of Smithtown regular board meeting to voice their concerns over a petition proposal by Site Tech Wireless to place a 170-foot pole at the intersection of 85 Old Northport Road and Old Commack Road.

The proposed plot of land for the monopole is located near a dumpsite, causing residents, who were already weary of negative health affects they believe the dumpsite has caused, to possibly continue to compromise their health.

Residents also said the pole would be an unattractive addition to their community.
