On this day in 2007, Dr. Drew Velting, a clinical psychologist and member of the Association for Applied and Therapeutic Humor, performed for St. Catherine of Siena Nursing Home as a part of his Long Term Care Tour during National Nursing Home Week, according to a Queens Gazette archived report.
According to the report, the St. Catherine of Siena Nursing Home stop was part of a weeklong tour that started May 14 at elder care and rehabilitation centers throughout New York. Velting, whose material has appeared in the revision of Joke Express, edited by Judy Brown (Andrews McMeel Publishing), is known for his quick wit and dry delivery.
