Long Beach Road residents were encouraged by the town to evacuate while Hurricane Sandy had its way with the town. If you live there and are still there you are stuck there as water as completely taken over the roadway.
This afternoon the water began making its way up the winding road up to points on the road before you could normally see the beach. Public Safety officials placed a road barrier near The Knox School discouraging locals from heading towards the beach.
