Luso to Take Over Former Sertinos Cafe Location

Needing more space to cater to a rapidly expanding clientele has forced Luso Restaurant to move west on Main Street into a the recently vacated home of another popular Smithtown eatery – Sertinos Cafe.

FeelGoods Cafe, the St. James eatery known for its "EdgyBurgers," has closed its doors. The eatery initially announced it would re-open in April, but has since decided not to open its doors again.

Smithtown Schools Reveal 'Tier One' of Deficit Reduction Plan

The Smithtown Central School District presented "Tier One" of its proposal to eliminate the $4.1 million deficit its facing for the 2013-14 school year during Tuesday night's first budget hearing.

Lemon Leaf Closes its Doors [Empty in Smithtown]

Lemon Leaf, the Thai restaurant that took over the former home to the Korean barbecue restaurant Genghis Khan on Smithtown's Main Street, has closed.

The restaurant opened in July of last year.

Vecchio to Run for 13th Town Supervisor Term

Town Supervisor Patrick Vecchio announced Sunday at a Smithtown Republican fundraiser in Lake Ronkonkoma that he would be running for a 13th term, according to a Newsday report.

Vecchio will turn 83-years-old in September.

Fire Engulfs Smithtown Home Early Monday Morning

Firefighters from six local fire departments battled a blaze early Monday morning that ripped through a Smithtown home.

According to Tim Murphy, Second Assistant Chief for the Smithtown Fire Department, the owners of the home located at 29 Damin Circle called about a fire in their home at 1:07 a.m., and were inside at the time of the fire. The firefighters were faced with a large body of fire upon arrival.

"Why are Smithtown teachers continuing to pay for school supplies out of their ownRead More pocket?" Since when? Ever see the big list of supplies kids get in their folders at the end of the year for them to bring in next year? I think you're talking about the wrong school district.
