Week in Review: Big Week for Local Businesses

A new club/lounge opens while a veteran eatery renovates.

Artful Dodger took over the vacant home to  on Main Street, but its opening was delayed by an . With the repairs complete the club/lounge is set to open Friday.

The restaurant chain, which opened its first location on Main Street in Smithtown back in October 2007, will introduce its new interior theme at the location – what they refer to as the “Made in America” feel. The restaurant will continue to serve its signature burgers and add items such as turkey and veggie burgers, chicken sandwiches, wings and salads. It will also offer more toppings, side items desserts and beverages.

Earlier this month Patch reported  would take over  located at 255 Lake Avenue in St. James. This gas station is now open.

Smithtown Hot Yoga hosted its second "Sweat-A-Thon" on Saturday, raising more than $600 for the Long Island chapter of the U.S. Veterans Motorcycle Club.

As residents wonder if they will see the first real snowfall this winter this weekend, the Town of Smithtown Highway Department supervisor said the mild temperatures and no snow have given the crews time to get the town in better shape.
