Freeze Warning In Effect from 2 am to 10 am EDT Wednesday.
The National Weather Service in New York has issued a Freeze Warning, which is in effect from 2 am to 10 am EDT Wednesday.
- Locations: New York City, Long Island, and coastal Connecticut.
- Temperatures: in the upper 20s to around freezing.
- Timing: late tonight into Wednesday morning.
- Impacts: sensitive plants may be damaged or killed.
A Freeze Warning means below freezing temperatures are imminent or highly likely. These conditions will kill crops and other sensitive vegetation.

So... cover any transplants you put in the ground over the beautiful weekend. I just put something atop my Jack in the Pulpits, that I lost to a similar freeze last year. And I added a little more mulch around some emerging perennials.
I will try to find a map of where the warning is, but if not, look at the links in the notice. And next year, read the Farmer's Almanac, which predicted just such a weather event for today last Fall....
