Event Spotlight: I Love My Park Day

This Saturday locals can shower some affection on Nissequogue River State Park by participating in I Love My Park Day.
The day's events include a spring cleanup, tree trail nature hike and a community quilt squares awards ceremony.
All events will be held at Nissequogue River State Park beginning at 9 a.m.

Spring Cleanup: 9-11:30 a.m.
Volunteers should wear.bring; sunscreen, bug spray, work shoes or sneakers, drinking water and appropriate clothing such as hats, long pants and long sleeved shirts. Volunteers will be provided trash bags, gloves, garbage grabbers, free snacks, beverages and volunteer certificates. 

Volunteers can register by calling (516) 437-4000 or visitwww.ptnyorg to register online. Registration will also be available the day of the event.

Tree Trail Nature Hike: Noon-1 p.m.
Using GPS devices, including smart phones, the hike will follow a trail that identifies the parks unique variety of trees.

Community Quilt Squares Awards Ceremony: 1:30-2 p.m.
