Firefighters Escort Santa Claus Through Smithtown

Smithtown Fire Department hosts its annual Christmas Parade on Saturday.

A little bit of snow couldn't stop Santa Claus made his annual drive through Smithtown on Saturday night.

Smithtown Fire Department hosted its 34th annual Christmas Parade on Saturday night with sirens blaring and lights all aglow as the jolly, St. Nick waited to greet children and hear their Christmas wishes.

Despite the snow and hazardous road conditions, the parade started off with plans with the route being modified as necessary to accommodate the trucks. The planned stops at Smithtown Town Hall, Smithtown High School West and the Meat Farms Shopping Center on Route 347 were best places to catch up with the trucks.
