JWG's Grand Hodgepodge — Springtime Snow & Accomplish (2 poems)

Wherein JWG concentrates on positive thoughts.

53. Springtime Snow

Springtime Snow
Is predicted for tomorrow evening.
Clouds are moving in.

How thrilling it is
To see flakes of snow that will not last long.
I will not sleep much tonight.

My childhood reawakens.
I recall seeing snow on the Lilacs.
I knew such moments were rare in Life.

Snow on Easter was really a treat.
Everyone had on their best clothing.
It was as if the snowstorm hadn’t happened.

Find out what's happening in Smithtownwith free, real-time updates from Patch.

Baby Ducks enjoyed the snow.
Their Mother wouldn’t let them get cold feet.
How do you make the children behave?

No Snowmen were made.
Instead, we made Snow Bunnies with long ears.
Then, we posed our pet Rabbit.

We had fun.
Even if it doesn’t snow tomorrow,
I can imagine.

54. Accomplish

Accomplish
The smallest task to buffer one’s spirit
When one is worn down.

Thinking of a plan
Can be a huge deed that makes one happy
After worrying of emptiness.

When one’s health is wavering,
Balancing points are misinterpreted
Causing complicated delusions.

Concentrating on positive thoughts
Enables one to walk on a high wire.
I, myself, have never taken a tumble.

I have wobbled a great deal.
I have been afraid of being scudded.
I’m glad to say no ill wind pushed me.

Now on solid ground,
I will not cross the gully of despair
For it is too treacherous.

Being safe
Has to be one of Life’s biggest thrills I’ve
Accomplished.
