8. Stamina
Stamina
Challenges an unthinkable attitude
When push comes to shove.
When one walks along
A beautiful, relaxing-to-the-eyes
Path, one doesn’t need to think.
One’s internal battery
Charges each of the personal senses.
One has to process experience.
Accomplishment is only noticed
With the realization that a task
Many times, one is alone
As a witness to this special event.
It is a surprise that one endured.
One has the power
To motivate muscles without knowing
One is tricking one’s engine.
Recharging
With both food and sleep is necessary
To do anything.
9. Remember
Remember.
Life is full of forgotten memories
That seemed permanent.
Remember shadows
Eliciting laughter from escapades
We enjoyed when we were young.
Remember the importance
We placed on a single act of kindness
We thought had to be a miracle.
Remember People we idolized
Whose every word and action we followed
As if they, themselves, could change this troubled World.
Remember tragic events
Witnessed sinking our hearts in deep despair.
Too many smiles were lost forever.
Remember today
Is as important as we all make it.
We mustn’t dwell on the bad.
Remember.
Emptiness can be refilled each new day
Making sadness fade.
