Doing business today requires a great deal of creativity and ingenuity. I have found that meeting with other business professionals and discussing new ideas for marketing, advertising and getting in touch with new clients is really helpful.
I started a small group called The Think Tank and The Do Tank to develop ideas and help each other. This is a forum to collaborate on new ideas, discuss the economy and what works/what doesn't. We have been meeting monthly and I have learned a great deal about what's happening. Out of my 7 businesses, I have 6 of them under one roof, we all collaborate, discuss and utilize each others resources which has proved to be extremely helpful. This is something I think other businesses should consider and the premise of The Tanks.
With all the commotion on Wall St and the unemployment rate at an all time high, I think it's time we really discuss small business on LI and how to keep strong. I just noticed that Hallmark is actually selling Unemployment Sympathy cards. Yikes!
