Benjamin Greshin, Temple Beth Sholom Founder, Dies

Greshin was 86 years old.

Benjamin Greshin, a former Smithtown resident and one of the founders of Temple Beth Sholom has died. Greshin was 86 years old.

According to a Legacy.com obituary, Greshin, who was born in Borough Park, Brooklyn, died on Aug. 29 in his Newton, MA home. The Harvard Law School and Townsend Harris High School graduate, married his wife Mildred in 1954, around the time he moved to Smithtown. Greshin had his own general law practice and practiced law for 45 years, later becoming a plaintiff's attorney in Suffolk County.

The obituary also states Greshin was a founder of Temple Beth Sholom, a board member for the Smithtown Historical Society, and a volunteer judge for the Village of Head of the Harbor.
