Former Smithtown resident and town tax assessor Natale Amato has died. He was 91 years old.
According to the Newsday obituary, Amato, who resided in South Pasadena, Fl., was also a WWII Army Sargent, Former President of the Tax Assessors Association for the State of New York and Former President of the Northeast Regional Assessors Association.
Visitation will be held at The Branch Funeral Home, located at 190 East Main Street in Smithtown on Tuesday and Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. The funeral mass will be held Thursday at 9:45 a.m. at St. Patrick's R.C. Church with the interment to follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery.
