Smithtown Community Remembers Cassandra Steinle

Smithtown friends and family members have taken to social media to remember the life of a Smithtown West student. 

Cassandra Steinle, a student at Smithtown High School West, died after a long battle against neuroblastoma IV and lung disease on Wednesday night. She was 15. 

Steinle was first diagnosed with Neuroblastoma IV when she was 15 months old, undergoing surgery and chemotherapy. These treatments later caused her to become critically ill from lung disease, a result of her treatments.

Friends and community members remembered Cassandra for her 'love for life,' 'infectious smile,' and 'big heart' on Twitter and Faceebook on Thursday morning.
