Thomas Francis Ahearn Jr., Retired NYC Police Lieutenant, Dies

Visitation will be at Branch Funeral Home on Thursday.

Thomas Francis Ahearn Jr., 81, of Smithtown and Hauppauge has passed away from Parkinson’s disease.

According to Newsday, Ahearn, was an honorable veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, was a retired lieutenant of the New York City 113th precinct homicide squad and a former commander of the Queens special homicide task force and decorated member of the Police Pistol Team. Ahearn is survived by his sister, Kathleen Lang and was the father of seven children. He was the beloved husband of Ann Ahearn, his late bride, for 54 years.

Visitation is Thursday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the Branch Funeral Home in Smithtown. To read the entire obituary on Newsday, click here.
