Question of the Day: Are Libraries Still Relevant?

With the growth of technology, do libraries still serve a purpose?

The Smithtown Special Library District has gone through numerous renovations and expansion – as the Commack branch reopened the Kings Park branch closed and when the Nesconset branch reopens the Smithtown branch will close. Each branch holds events, meetings and more, but with these things going on and the numerous renovations implemented, is it enough to keep libraries relevant in today's technological savvy world?

Our Question of the Day for Saturday is, "Are Libraries Still Relevant?"

Feel free to comment in the box below. Look for another question of the day tomorrow on Smithtown Patch.

I can tell you from my experience with writing the history articles for Patch that there are a lot of books, documents, newspapers, etc. that are not online. There are still so many treasures to find at your local library!
