Car on Fire in Decrepit Former Recycling Plant

Firefighters put out a fire of abandoned car that was in a former recycling plant Tuesday afternoon.

Firefighters from the Smithtown Fire Department, with assistance from the Hauppauge Fire Department, extinguished a fire of an abandoned car in the former recycling plant by the train station Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Smithtown Fire Department, firefighters put down the fire of the abandoned car, which occurred in the main building of the plant, and sprayed the walls and entered the smaller building in the back of the lot to make sure the fire didn’t spread.
