Cops: 3 Teens Arrested for Car Break-Ins

Teens led police officers on pursuit through Lake Grove and Nesconset neighborhoods on Tuesday morning.

Three Ronkonkoma teens were arrested for s series of car break-ins after an extensive search through a Nesconset neighborhood on Tuesday morning, according to Suffolk County Police. 

Police said they received a 911 call at 4:37 a.m. Tuesday from a homeowner reporting a group attempting to break into a car parked on Elliot Drive in Lake Grove. 

However, when officers responded to the area the suspects had broken into the 1995 Mazda and were seen fleeing on foot. 

Police called in canine units to track the teens through Lake Grove into the Nesconset area. 

Three Ronkonkoma teens were arrested by police at the  White Cliff Lane and Windwood Drive intersection in Nesconset. Police said they found the teens in possession of sunglasses, change purse with money, makeup case and assorted paperwork from the Mazda. 

In addition, the teens also had DMV registration, assorted paperwork and other items that appeared to have been stolen out of a 2004 Mercury on White Cliff Lane, according to police. 

Each of the teens is facing one misdemeanor charge of fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property.
