Cops: Drunk Driver Caught Speeding on Main Street

The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Robert Brown, 31, of Bohemia, was arrested on Jan. 20 in Smithtown and charged with one misdemeanor count of driving while intoxicated - first offense. Suffolk police said Brown was driving a 2009 Jeep westbound on Smithtown Main Street at more than 60 mph, more than the posted 40 mph speed limit. When an officer pulled him over, Brown was determined to be intoxicated and arrested. 

Shelby Johnson, 19, of St. James was arrested Jan. 20 and faces one felony charge of second-degree forgery. Johnson stole a TD Bank check belonging to someone else and attempted to cash it, according to police. The value of the check was not disclosed by police. 

Alexander Forgit, 27, of Lindenhurst, was arrested on Jan. 16 in Smithtown on one misdemeanor charge of driving while intoxicated - first offense. Police said Forgit was driving a 2009 Mazda sedan on Harned Road in Smithtown when he lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a utility pole. Forgit called police to report the accident. The responding officer arrived to find Forgit was intoxicated. 

Anthony Luizzi, 24, of Smithtown, was arrested on Jan.15 and charged with one misdemeanor count of driving while intoxicated - first offense. Luizzi was driving a white 2013 Ford Escape on Commack Road in Commack at 1:55 a.m. on Jan. 15 when police noticed he  started swerving along the road. He was pulled over by police officers who administered breath testing to find Luizzi was intoxicated.
