Cops: Smithtown Man Had License Suspended 64 Times

Police arrest Stefan Giokas for driving while ability impaired and criminal drug possession on Thursday.

Suffolk County police said the arrested a Smithtown man for driving while ability impared Thursday night, only to find out that his license had been suspended or revoked 64 times.

Police stopped Stefan Giokas at Clearview Drive in Wheatley Heights at 10:45 p.m. and charged him with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the 1st degree, a felony, driving while ability impaired, a violation, and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 7th degree, a misdemeanor.

Giokas is set to be arraigned in the First District Court in Central Islip on Friday, police said.
