Cops: Two Caught Attempting to Sell Drugs on East Main Street

The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Gregory Hawson, 19, of Lake Ronkonkoma, was arrested Nov. 2 and faces one misdemeanor charge of driving while intoxicated - first offense. Police said Hawson was driving eastbound on West Jericho Turnpike when he rearended the vehicle in front of him. Hawson failed a field sobriety test, according to police reports. 

Christina Jones, 18, of Smithtown, and Shawn Tully, 37, of Smithtown, were arrested on Oct. 31 in the Village Commons parking lot across from Republic Lounge on Smithtown Main Street. Jones and Tully are each charged with on felony count  third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substances with intent to sell, one misdemeanor charge of fourth-degree criminal possession of marijuana and one misdemeanor charge of criminal use of drug paraphernalia. 
Police said Jones and Tully were found outside Republic with roughly 35 grams of hallucinogenic mushrooms and more than 2 ounces of marijuana package for sale in addition to having a digital scale, small plastic bags, rubber gloves and rolling papers. 

Peter Carman, 37, of Ronkonkoma, was arrested on Oct. 30 in Nesconset and faces one misdemeanor charge of driving while intoxicated - first offense. Carman was driving a 1998 Cadillac eastbound on Smithtown Boulevard when at 12:46 a.m he was involved in a motor vehicle accident just west of the Nichols Road intersection, according to police. Officers responding to the scene determined Carman was intoxicated.
