Crime Report: Stolen Gas Cans; Resisting Arrest

The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Suffolk County Police Department Fourth Precinct reported these arrests and incidents in Smithtown during April 30 May 5.

John Ortiz, 47, of Port Jefferson Station, was arrested on May 3 in Smithtown on first offense DWI and operator leaving the scene of an accident with property damage charges. Reports state was arrested eastbound on Canal Road driving a 2002 Toyota Camry.

Milton Martinez, 19, of Bay Shore, was arrested in May 2 in Smithtown second-degree burglary and possession of marijuana. Reports state Martinez was arrested on Express Drive North with marijuana while seated in a 2012 Honda. No additional information on the burglary is available.

Gregory Belveduto, 23, of Nesconset, was arrested in Smithtown on second-degree burglary, third-degree burglary and resisting arrest charges. Reports state Belveduto was arrested for stealing two gallon gas cans containing gas at Duncan Avenue in Ronkonkoma. Reports also state Belveduto attempted to enter a home through a rear window on St. James Parkway in Nesconset.

Eddie Ghingoree, 35, of St. James, was arrested on May 3 in St. James criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana. Reports state Ghingoree was arrested at his home where he was in possession of marijuana.
