Crime Report: Cellphone Taken From Woman Calling 911
The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.
Suffolk County Police Department Fourth Precinct reported these arrests and incidents in Smithtown during Sept. 16-22.
Charles McLynch, 47, of Bay Shore, was arrested on Sept. 21 at 12:20 p.m. on fourth degree criminal mischief charges. Reports state McLynch was arrested at 727 Veterans Highway in Smithtown after taking a cellphone from a woman as she was attempting to call 911 and did not return the phone for two hours.
Shannon Wightman, 19, of Greenlawn, was arrested in Smithtown on Sept. 20 at 6:20 p.m. on two criminal possession of marijuana charges. Reports state Wightman was observed rolling a marijuana cigarette in public at 5:24 p.m. After taken to the fourth precinct, police found a plastic bag of marijuana in her bra.

Daniel Dabalsky, 24, of St. James, was arrested on Sept. 16 in Smithtown at 1 a.m. on operating a motor vehicle with a BAC of .08 of 1 percent, first offense. Reports state Dabalsky was traveling 60 miles per hour in a 40 miles per hour zone in a 2012 Nissan at Route 25 and Ledgewood Drive.
