Crime Report: Cigarettes Bought with Stolen Credit Card

The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Suffolk County Police Department Fourth Precinct reported these arrests and incidents in Smithtown during Sept. 9 - 15.

Joseph Welling, 22, of Smithtown, was arrested on Sept. 13 in Smithtown on fourth degree grand larceny. Reports state Welling stole a Chase Bank credit card from a woman's car and bought four packs of cigarettes from a 7-Eleven between Aug. 5 and Aug. 6.

Jawad Malik, 34, of Centereach, was arrested on Sept. 9 in Smithtown for first-offense DWI charges. Reports state Malik was arrested on the corner of Lawrence Avenue and Main Street at 4:57 a.m. after driving a 2011 Honda Accord the wrong way on Bank Avenue, a one-way street. 

Kenneth Taylor, 31, of Smithtown, was arrested in Smithtown on Sept. 9 on first degree criminal contempt charges. Reports state Taylor was arrested on 292 Ronkonkoma Avenue at 5:54 p.m. for unlawful possession of marijuana while being arrested for active warrants.

"Why are Smithtown teachers continuing to pay for school supplies out of their ownRead More pocket?" Since when? Ever see the big list of supplies kids get in their folders at the end of the year for them to bring in next year? I think you're talking about the wrong school district.
