Crime Report: DWI Charge, Criminal Possession of Marijuana, and Fleeing the Scene of an Accident
A blotter of the latest arrests and incidents in the Fourth Precinct
Suffolk County Police Department Fourth Precinct reported these arrests and incidents in Smithtown during Jan. 28—Feb. 4:
Joseph Crotta, 27, of Lake Ronkonkoma was arrested Jan. 31 in Smithtown and charged with operating a motor vehicle while impaired. Reports state Crotta was arrested on Route 25A in Smithtown after allegedly operating his 1999 Hyundai while impaired.
Kenneth Wood, 21, of St. James was arrested Jan. 29 in Smithtown and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana. Reports state Wood was allegedly in possession of marijuana while operating his vehicle on New York Ave. in Smithtown.

Frank Garofalo, 45, of Smithtown was arrested Jan. 29 in Smithtown and charged with leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident. Reports state Garofalo was arrested at his home after leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident. Reports also state he struck a parked vehicle.
David Sedacca, 26, of Smithtown was arrested Jan. 28 in Commack and charged with criminal possession of marijuana. Reports state Sedacca was arrested on Route 25 in Commack after allegedly possessing marijuana.

Henry Buenten, 52, of Smithtown was arrested Jan. 28 in Smithtown and charged with first offense DWI. Reports state Buenten was arrested on Meadow Rd. in Smithtown after he allegedly struck a vehicle while intoxicated.
None of the defendants have been convicted of a crime, but were arrested for the charges listed above. They are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
