Crime Report: DWI Charges, Forged Plates, and Criminal Mischief

A blotter of the latest arrests and incidents in the Fourth Precinct.

Suffolk County Police Department Fourth Precinct reported these arrests and incidents in Smithtown during March 17-22.

Alexander Kouffman, 24, of East Hampton was arrested March 22 in Saint James and charged with seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Reports state at approximately 3:25 p.m., Kouffman allegedly had possession of a controlled substance.    

Tyler Munro, 21, of St. James was arrested March 22 in Saint James and charged with possession of a hypodermic instrument. Reports state at approximately 3:25 p.m. Munro allegedly had possession of a hypodermic instrument on 148 4th St, Saint James.

Karen Kriegel, 44, of New York was arrested March 21 in Smithtown and charged with second degree aggravated harassment. Reports state at approximately 1:12 p.m., Feb. 28, Kriegel allegedly sent out forbidden messages to another party.    

Brian Stowby, 24, of Nesconset was arrested March 20 in Smithtown and charged with first offense DWI. Reports state Stowby was allegedly operating his 2004 Acura on New York Ave., and Wildwood in Smithtown while intoxicated.

Catherine Lowell, 49, of South Setauket was arrested March 20 in Nesconset and charged with first offense DWI. Reports state at approximately 2:47 a.m., Lowell allegedly operating her 2010 Nissan while intoxicated.     

Mark Santucci, 29, of New Kensington was arrested March 20 in Nesconset and charged with first offense DWI. Reports state at approximately 3:40 a.m., Santucci allegedly failed to maintain his lane while operating his 2003 GMC eastbound on Route 347.    

Derek Lombardi, 28, of Melbourne was arrested March 19 in Smithtown and charged with second degree unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. Reports state at approximately 9:24 a.m., Lombadi was operating his vehicle without a license on Route 347 and Route 111 in Smithtown.     

Brittany Haviland, 21, of Hauppauge was arrested Marach 19 in Smithtown and charged with second degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. Reports state at approximately 2:40 a.m., Haviland was spotted by police traveling eastbound on Nesconset Highway with one headlight. Upon being pulled over, police found her to not be licensed.    

Mabel Rivera, 46, of Central Islip was arrested March 18 in Smithtown and charged with a motor vehicle license violation. Reports state Rivera allegedly operated a 2003 Lincoln without a driver’s license on Plymouth Blvd., Smithtown.    

Elkisha Liverman, 35, of Farmingville was arrested March 17 in Smithtown and charged with second degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and second degree possession of a forged instrument. Reports state Liverman allegedly forged a license plate for a 1994 Ford.    

John J Dougal IV, 21, of Nesconset was arrested March 17 in Hauppauge and charged with second and third degree criminal mischief. Reports state Dougal allegedly cut the converter out of two vehicles on Jericho Turnpike, Saint James.    

Christopher Capolino, 18, of Smithtown was arrested March 17 in Saint James and charged with seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Reports state Capolino allegedly loitered on Lake Ave. and Oak Ave. at approximately 6 p.m.   

Caitlan Monte, 20, of Commack was arrested March 17 in Saint James and charged with loitering a controlled substance. Reports state at approximately 6 p.m., Monte allegedly had drugs in her 2003 Toyota.   

None of the defendants have been convicted of a crime, but were arrested for the charges listed above. They are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.  If any of the above charges have been acquitted, in order for removal from publication, one must email the editor and provide proof of dismissal.
