Crime Report: Heroin Possession, DWI

The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Suffolk County Police Department Fourth Precinct reported these arrests and incidents in Smithtown during Aug. 28-Sept. 6.

Taurean Russo, 25, of Nesconset was arrested Sept. 5 in Nesconset and charged with petty larceny. Reports indicate Russo was arrested for the alleged cash theft from a pocketbook that belongs to a female. Reports state the incident occurred at approximately 10:30 p.m at 5 Browns Rd., Nesconset.    

Joseph Hauter, Jr., 32, of Ronkonkoma was arrested Sept. 4 in Nesconset and charged with DWI. Reports state Hauter was arrested for the alleged operation of a 2006 Chevy at Smith Blvd., and Southern Blvd. while intoxicated at approximately 8:15 p.m.

Rafael Ramirez, 50, of St. James was arrested Sept. 4 in Nesconset and charged with aggravated DWI. Reports indicate Ramirez was arrested for the alleged operation of a 1994 Nissan on Route 347 and Terry Rd., Nesconset at approximately 11:10 p.m.    

Bryan Bennett, 21, of St. James was arrested Sept. 4 in Smithtown and charged with loitering, an unlawful use of a controlled substance. Reports indicate Bennett was arrested for the alleged possession of heroin in a 2008 Mitsubishi.

Darren Bennett, 25, of St. James was arrested Sept. 4 in Smithtown and charged with loitering, an unlawful use of a controlled substance. Reports indicate Darren Bennett was with Bryan Bennett, 21 as stated in police reports. The reports indicate the two were arrested for alleged possession of heroin in a 2008 Mitsubishi at approximately 4:20 p.m.    

Kerry Nieves, 22, of Central Islip was arrested Sept. 3 in Nesconset and charged with first offense DWI. Reports indicate Nieves was arrested for the alleged operation of a 2008 Infiniti while intoxicated. Reports indicate the incident occurred at approximately 4:30 a.m. on Route 347.    

Tarik Nicolas, 26, of Hauppauge was arrested Sept. 3 in Smithtown and charged with first offense DWI. Reports indicate Nicolas was arrested for the alleged operation of a 2002 Mercedes Benz while intoxicated. Reports indicate Nicolas was traveling on Terry Rd., Smithtown at approximately 2:15 a.m.   

A seventeen year old boy, of Smithtown was arrested Aug. 31 in Smithtown and charged with fourth degree criminal possession of marijuana, and growing marijuana. Reports indicate the youth had possession of marijuana at a residence on Manor Rd., Smithtown.   

Lance Miskovsky, 29, of Smithtown was arrested Aug. 31 in Smithtown and charged with third degree narcotics. No other information can be provided.  

Gerul Mustafa, 41, of Shirley was arrested Aug. 30 in Smithtown and charged with impersonation. Reports indicate Mustafa was arrested for the alleged operation of a 2001 BMW while intoxicated in Ronkonkoma at approximately 1:32 a.m. Reports also state upon Mustafa’s arrest, a false name was given to police officers.
