Crime Report: Intent to Sell Heroin in Smithtown
The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.
Suffolk County Police Department Fourth Precinct reported these arrests and incidents in Smithtown during Dec. 2-8.
Gary Guagliardo, 28, of Hempstead, was arrested in Smithtown on Dec. 7 on fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, a misdemeanor. Reports state Guagliardo entered an unlocked 2010 Honda Civic on Oct. 14 and stole a wallet, credit cards, a Splish Splash card, loose change, two EZ Passes, watch, silver necklace and a USB car charger.
Diana Mextorf, 24, of Farmingdale, was arrested on Dec. 7 in Smithtown on third-degree criminal possession of narcotics with intent to sell charges, a felony. Reports state Mextorf was in a 2006 Toyota in possession of a quantity of heroin beyond what is considered for personal use that was packaged in a way consistent with a drug sale.

Joseph Welling, 22, of Smithtown, was arrested on Dec. 5 in Smithtown on fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property charges, a felony, and petit larceny charges, a misdemeanor. Reports state Welling took money from a 2006 Honda Pilot at 65 Mobrey Lane in Smithtown. Reports also state Welling was seen riding a black Diamondback mountain bike on Old Willets Patch belonging to his neighbor that was previously reported stolen.
