Crime Report: Man Allegedly Arranged to Have Another Man Assaulted
The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.
Suffolk County Police Department Fourth Precinct reported these arrests and incidents in Smithtown during Jan. 17-23.
Justin Wright, 23, of Bay Shore, was arrested on Jan. 18 in Smithtown on a first-offense DWI charge, a , and a charge of criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor. Reports state Wright was arrested at 490 Main Street while driving a 2002 Mercedes Benz and was found to be in possession of a controlled substance. Reports also state Wright failed to stay in his lane while driving on Route 25 at Route 25A.
Hassan Kanoun, 41, of Smithtown, was arrested on Jan. 17 on a charge of leaving the scene of a car accident with property damage, a misdemeanor. Reports state Kanoun was leaving the 7-Eleven parking lot to travel westbound on Route 25A in St. James in a 2001 Ford SUV, crossed into the eastbound lane and hit the driver side of a 2000 Lexus, then left the scene.

Christopher Horton, 41, of Smithtown, was arrested on Jan. 16 in Smithtown on a sixth-degree conspiracy charge, a misdemeanor. Reports state Horton arranged to have a male victim assaulted.
