Crime Report: Man Arrested for Tool Theft, Then Damages Holding Cell

The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Suffolk County Police Department Fourth Precinct reported these arrests and incidents in Smithtown during Oct. 20-29.

William Huergo, 32, of E. Northport was arrested Oct. 28 in Smithtown and charged with leaving the scene of a crash. Reports state Huergo was arrested for allegedly leaving the scene of a crash with his 2003 Nissan. Reports indicate the incident occurred on Nesconset Highway, Hauppauge at approximately 11:23 a.m.

Andre Machate, 41, of St. James was arrested Oct. 27 in Smithtown and charged with third degree grand larceny, and third degree criminal mischief. Reports indicate Machate was arrested for the alleged theft of a generator and assorted power tools from a lumber store located in Nesconset. Reports indicate when he was arrested; he allegedly broke a fire suppression device in the holding cell.

Robert Smith, 20, of North Babylon was arrested Oct. 26 in North Babylon and charged with fifth degree criminal possession of stolen property. Reports indicate Smith was arrested for the alleged possession of a stolen mini motorcycle. Reports indicate he was observed operating the motorcycle on a public roadway in Mastic.

Allison Cody, 39, of Hicksville was arrested Oct. 26 in Smithtown and charged with seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Reports indicate Cody was arrested for the alleged unlawful dealing with a child. Reports indicate she served alcohol to a minor and during a search, was found in possession of a controlled substance.

Christopher Watson, 47, of St. James was arrested Oct. 23 in Smithtown and charged with DWI first offense. Reports indicate Watson was arrested for the alleged operation of a 2010 Ford while intoxicated on Route 25 and Route 111 at approximately 1:35 a.m.

Christina Guercio, 25, of Lake Grove was arrested Oct. 22 in Smithtown and charged with first offense DWI. Reports indicate Guercio was arrested for the alleged operation of a 2012 Nissan on Route 25, Smithtown.

Jonathan Zapata, 21, of W. Babylon was arrested Oct. 21 in Smithtown and charged with first offense DWI. Reports indicate Zapata was arrested for the alleged operation of a 2001 Acura while intoxicated on Main St., Smithtown at approximately 2:13 a.m.

Francisco Carias, 23, of Islip was arrested Oct. 21 in Smithtown and charged with first offense DWI. Reports indicate Carias was arrested for the alleged operation of a 2005 Nissan while intoxicated on Meadow St., Smithtown at approximately 3:49 a.m.

Kathleen Delaney, 50, of Commack was arrested Oct. 21 in Smithtown and charged with first offense DWI. Reports indicate Delaney was arrested for the alleged operation of a 2004 Hyundai while intoxicated on Route 25 and Route 111, Smithtown at approximately 2 p.m.
