Crime Report: Stolen Credit Card, Prescription Pad Possession

The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Suffolk County Police Department Fourth Precinct reported these arrests and incidents in Smithtown.

Gregory Marshall, 43, of St. James, was arrested on Dec. 28 in Smithtown on misdemeanor charges of leaving first offense. Reports state Marshall fled the scene of an accident at the intersection of Marshall Moriches Road at Fairfield Drive where he struck a 2012 Mercedes in his 1995 Honda, causing injury to the driver.

Wilmer Velasquez, 36, of Centereach, was arrested on Dec. 28 in Smithtown on Petit Larceny charges, a misdemeanor. Reports state Velasquez stole clothing from Sears in the Smith Haven Mall.

Joseph Welling, 22, of Smithtown, was arrested on Dec. 20 in Smithtown on fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property charges for being in possession of a stolen credit card, a felony; fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, a misdemeanor; and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance charges, a misdemeanor. Reports state Welling was in possession of a Visa signature credit card that belonged to another person and a doctor's prescription pad. The report also states Welling was also in possession of heroin.
