Crimes Nearby: Assault at Port Jeff LIRR Station

The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Suffolk County police reported the following arrests.

Kings Park

Georgia Vanagas, 56, of Kings Park, was arrested on first offense DWI charges on July 29. Police said that Vanagas was involved in a car crash near Nichols Road and Route 347 in Brookhaven when she was found to be driving under the influence.

Kathryn Holcomb, 50, of East Northport, was arrested on DWI charges on Aug. 2. According to Suffolk County Police, Holcomb was driving near Middleville Road and Route 25A in Fort Salonga at 3:30 p.m. when she was pulled over for driving over the double yellow line.

Commack

Jennie Hernandez, 18, of Lindenhurst was arrested and charged with petit larceny on July 30. At 4:18 p.m., Hernandez was caught stealing merchandise from a Walmart in Commack, police said. Along with her was Allison Bailey, 19, of Copiague, who was arrested and charged with petit larceny as well.

Daniel Ingram, 19, of Commack was arrested and charged for petit larceny on Aug. 3. According to police, Ingram stole a hat from a store on Route 25 in East Northport.

Hauppauge

A Brentwood resident was charged for robbery and criminal possession of a weapon when attempting to rob a Hauppauge gas station, Aug. 5.
According to police, Tommy Bisbal, 37, went into the Mobile station on Motor Parkway in Hauppauge at 12:15 p.m. where he held the sales clerk at gunpoint in attempts to steal cigarettes.

At 6:45 p.m., Bisbal was arrested and charged with robbery in the first degree and criminal possession of a weapon, police said.

Port Jefferson

A 24-year-old man was assaulted and robbed on Friday on the platform at the according to a Metropolitan Transportation Authority spokesperson. Suffolk police responded to a call at 11:50 p.m. about a man who had been assaulted by a group of people and then robbed at the LIRR station off of Route 112 in Port Jefferson. The investigation was turned over to the MTA police to handle. to read more.

A man was taken to the hospital early Saturday morning after an altercation on West Broadway in Port Jefferson left him with multiple stab wounds, according to police. Police have not released the name of the person who was stabbed but said that at about 2:46 a.m. on Saturday an altercation in front of on West Broadway led to a man being stabbed multiple times by another person who fled the scene at some point. The injured person was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. to read more.

On July 27 at about 10 p.m. someone on Chestnut Street in Mount Sinai called police to complain that a mailbox from an abandoned house on the same road had been thrown through the windshield of a Chevy Astrovan.

Miller Place-Rocky Point

Ramon Aviles, 38, of Selden, was arrested Aug. 3 in Rocky Point and charged with seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. During a traffic stop on Hallock Landing Road police allegedly found 35 wax bags containing heroin that he hid in the front part of his pants.

Lisa Branchgrove, 48, of Mastic Beach, was arrested July 28 in Rocky Point and charged with petty larceny. She allegedly stole merchandise from a store on 25A in Rocky Point and then returned the merchandise to customer service, where she received a store credit voucher and then left the store.

Daria Okrasinski, 30, of Wading River, was arrested July 28 in Mt. Sinai and charged with aggravated DWI and seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Okrasinski was arrested on Route 25A in Mount Sinai after her vehicle, a 2005 Toyota Scion TC, collided with another vehicle. She was then found to be intoxicated and also illegally possessed the drug Alprazolam, according to police.
