Crimes Nearby: Hit-and-Run, Counterfeit Cash

Also this week, a man in E. Northport was stabbed in the neck.

The following information was supplied by the Suffolk County police department. A criminal charge is only an accusation and does not indicate guilt.

Northport

• Police were called to a residence on 8th Avenue in East Northport Aug. 15 at 12:50 a.m. after a man was stabbed with a knife, officials said.

According to police, Derek Loper, 22, took a knife and stabbed another man in the back of the neck, causing significant bleeding and pain. The victim was hospitalized, police said.

Police did not say what led to the violence. Loper was charged with assault in the with intent to cause physical injury with a weapon in the second degree, a felony.

Huntington

• Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Second Squad detectives are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the driver involved in a hit-and-run crash that seriously injured a pedestrian in Huntington Station earlier this month.  


Three Village

• Imani Parker, 22, of Roosevelt, was arrested Aug. 23 in South Setauket and charged with first-degree possession of a forged instrument, a felony. According to a police report, Parker allegedly used fake currency at Home Depot on Pond Path at about 8 p.m.
