Crimes Nearby: Rape Charges, Alleged Threats to Choke a Cab Driver

The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Suffolk County police reported the following arrests.

Kings Park

Luis Sanchez, 23, of Kings Park, was arrested on Aug. 9 on charges of sexually assaulting a woman in Kings Park. Police charged Sanchez with rape in the first degree and two counts of a criminal sexual act.

Commack

A man robbed the located at 6230 Jericho Turnpike at 4:51 a.m. on Aug. 8. Police said he displayed a revolver handgun and demanded cash from the cashier. The cashier complied, handed the assailant an unspecified amount of cash, and the thief fled. No injuries were reported.

Hauppauge

A man robbed People’s United Bank on Middle Country Road in Lake Grove on Aug. 13. Police said a man entered People’s United Bank, located on 2921 Middle Country Road, at 10:25 a.m. and handed the teller a note demanding cash. The teller complied with the robber’s demands and gave him cash from the drawer and a red dye pack, according to police.  The dye pack exploded as the man left the bank. He was seen entering a gray four-door sedan, driven by a female, and together fled west on Middle Country Road. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the bank robbery to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.

Milos Vukcevic, 21, of Hauppauge was arrested in Smithtown Aug. 6 at 10:33 p.m. on charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance. Police said Vukcevic was driving a 1994 Mitsubishi on the south side of Grand View Lane when he struck a mailbox. The controlled substance was found upon the search of Vukcevic's vehicle.

Dennis Marino, 20, of Hauppauge was arrested in Hauppauge on Aug. 5 at 4 p.m. on charges of fugitive with a warrant. Police indicated they received information that Marino was wanted by the State of Florida on a previous charge of dangerous drug violation.

Three Village

Nina Estick, 43, of Rocky Point, was arrested Aug. 11 on Trustees Road in Setauket and charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle without owner consent. According to police, Estick was allegedly found driving a 1999 Pontiac that did not belong to her.

Christine Baltieri, 42, of Stony Brook, was arrested Aug. 1 on Route 25 in Centereach and charged with second degree harassment. According to police, Baltieri allegedly threatened to choke the driver of the taxi in which she was a passenger.

Port Jefferson

James Pritchard, 30, of Coram was arrested Aug. 3 in Port Jefferson and charged with second degree criminal impersonation. Pritchard allegedly caused a disturbance and impersonated a narcotics detective at a bar and grill in Port Jefferson. The incident occurred at approximately 3:44 a.m east of Main St.

Jose Vargas, 25, of Port Jefferson was arrested Aug. 6 in Port Jefferson and charged with seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Reports state Vargas was stopped by two Port Jefferson town constables for suspected drug dealing. The incident occurred at approximately 12:20 a.m. at 242 Traders Cove, Port Jefferson.Northport

Northport

John Grigonis, 53, of East Northport, was arrested in East Northport on Aug. 6 and charged with operating a motor vehicle with a BAC .08 of 1%. First offense.
