Police Seeking Man Who Attempted to Rob Smithtown Gas Station
Police are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate a man who they say attempted to rob a gas station in Smithtown earlier this year.
The man entered Performance Fuels, located at 377 Veterans Highway, on March 31 around 12:50 p.m., displayed a gun, pointed it at the employee and demanded cash, police said.
Police: Suspected Serial Bank Robber Hits Farmingdale BankSuffolk County police are investigating a bank robbery that occurred Thursday morning at a bank in Farmingdale and authorities say they believe it's the same man who robbed banks in Deer Park and Commack over the past week.
On Thursday, detectives say the man entered Bethpage Federal Credit Union, located at 1033 Route 109, at 9:30 a.m. and approached a teller with a note demanding cash. The teller gave the man cash from the drawer, and he fled on foot.
2 Charged in Glen Cove Home Invasion, 2 Others Sought
Police have arrested two suspects and are looking for two more in a home invasion that occurred Monday in Glen Cove.

Glen Cove Police continue to investigate a home invasion at 39 Cole Street, where four suspects broke in at about 9:54 p.m.
According to police, the resident said that two of the men were armed with handguns and demanded money. The victim was "pistol-whipped about the head and suffered cuts and bruises to his head and face," according to a news release.

A jury found a Glen Cove man guilty of a 2012 murder.
After several hours of deliberation Thrursday, a jury found Edward Brown, 47, guilty in the brutal slaying of a 56-year-old Glen Cove man, authorities said.
Brown was found guilty on all counts before him – second-degree murder, fourth-degree grand larceny and fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, according to the Nassau County District Attorney's office.
Garden City Man Convicted of Strangling Elderly MotherA Garden City man was found guilty of strangling his 88-year-old mother to death, according to the Nassau County District Attorney's office.
After five hours of deliberation, a jury found James Olsen, 59, guilty of second-degree murder Thursday.
Olsen is due to be sentenced June 27 by Nassau County Court Judge Angelo Delligatti. He could be sentenced to between 15 years to life and 25 years to life in prison.

Robert Brown, 16, had just stepped out of 245 Bennett Avenue in Hempstead when he was shot and killed by an unknown assailant, cops said. The shooting happened at 11:50 p.m. last Friday.
Jury Convicts Riverhead Man of 2012 Rape and MurderA Suffolk County jury has convicted an East End landscaper of the rape and murder of a Flanders woman more than two years ago, said Suffolk County District Attorney Thomas Spota.
Alfonso Alvarado-Ajcuc, 23, of Riverhead, was convicted Friday of the second degree murder of Mirian Yohana Garcia, 29. He strangled her and left her nude body in a wooded area on Route 58 in Riverhead where it was discovered on May 7, 2012 behind the DMV office.
Police Seeking Church Donation Box Thief
Police are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the individual who broke into donation boxes at a Selden church last week.
According to police, someone broke open two wooden donation boxes and stole money at St. Margaret’s Church, located at 81 College Road, on May 21 between noon and 9 p.m. Approximately $150 was stolen from the boxes, police said.
