Motorcyclist Killed, Others Injured in Saturday Night Nesconset Crash

Fourth precinct detectives are currently investigating.

A Lake Grove motorcyclist was killed and three others were injured in a crash at the intersection of Route 347 and Lake Avenue in Nesconset on Saturday night. The fourth precinct is currently investigating the crash.

The crash occurred at 10:50 p.m. Cosimo Mollo, 81, and his wife, Lucille Mollo, 77, both of Lake Grove, were in their Mercury Milon driving east on 347 and making a left turn onto Lake Ave. when the vehicle was struck by a 2007 Suzuki motorcycle traveling west. 

Richard Primo, 30, of Lake Grove and his passenger Timothy Gray, 25, of Centerreach, were ejected from the bike.

All involved were transported to Stony Brook University Medical Center, where Primo was pronounced dead and the others were treated for non-life threatening injuries. 

Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks and the investigation is ongoing.
