Synagogue Falls Victim to Thief, Cops Say

Nesconset woman under arrest; also charged with another burglary.

A Nesconset woman was arrested on two burglary charges this week, including stealing cash from a nearby house of worship. 

Suffolk County police arrested Marisa Chayet, 23, after she allegedly swiped cash from Chabad Torah Community Center in Lake Grove. Police did not indicate how much was stolen. 

Chayet was also charged with a June 22 burglary at a house in Lake Grove. Police said she got in through the front door, and took jewelry and a computer.

Chayet is charged with second-degree and third-degree burglary, both of which are felonies.
