Old Cell Phones to Benefit Abuse Victims

The office of Legis. Lynne Nowick is collecting old cell phones, which will go to the Victims Information Bureau of Suffolk.

Getting a new phone anytime soon? Don't throw that old one out.

The office of Legis. Lynne Nowick is collecting old cell phones for victims of domestic violence, and donating the goods to the Victims Information Bureau of Suffolk.

VIBS assists victims of a range of abuses – children, elders, and more – who can use the cell phone in the case of an emergency, without having their calls tracked.

Cell phones can be dropped off in Nowick's office between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., Monday through Friday. Her office is located at 59 Landing Ave. in Smithtown.
