UPDATED: 2-Car Crash Sends Drivers to Hospital, Closes Route 25A

Rescue units have been called to the scene.

UPDATE 9:45 p.m.: Suffolk County Police have confirmed that two cars collided on Route 25A at St. Nicholas Avenue in Smithtown on Friday evening, temporarily closing Route 25A at Oakside Road.

According to police, one car was making a left from St. Nicholas Ave. onto Route 25A and hit a car driving northbound on the roadway at 5:36 p.m. Both drivers were taken to St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center and treated for minor injuries.

LIPA workers are at the scene repairing a utility pole and the road has been re-opened.

Original Story: Suffolk County Police responded to an accident involving an overturned car in Smithtown near San Remo Friday evening.

According to police, officers responded to a call at 5:27 p.m. at the intersection of Route 25A and St. Nicholas Avenue in Smithtown of an overturned car. The make and model have not yet been disclosed.

Route 25A is currently closed at Oakside Road. Police said wires are down and rescue units has been called to the scene.

"Why are Smithtown teachers continuing to pay for school supplies out of their ownRead More pocket?" Since when? Ever see the big list of supplies kids get in their folders at the end of the year for them to bring in next year? I think you're talking about the wrong school district.
