Police: 2 Nesconset Landscape Companies Have Same-Day Break-Ins

While the companies were on the receiving end of damages, nothing was stolen, police say.

Suffolk County Police are investigating break-ins and damages at two Nesconset landscaping companies on the same road that occurred on the same day.

According to police, Barry Bros. Landscaping, located at 88 Southern Boulevard in Nesconset, called police to report damages to three latches on landscaping equipment trailers that occured between 5 p.m. on Jan. 7 and 5:30 a.m. on Jan. 8. Police said the unknown person broke an enclosed trailer hasp, or a clasp secured with a lock.

Police said Earth Rite Landscaping & Design, also on Southern Boulevard in Nesconset, reported that locks to enclosed trailers were cut and an unknown person entered the trailers any time between closing on Jan. 7 and opening on Jan. 8.

While the damages and break-ins occured on the same day, there were no reports of anything being stolen.

A police investigation is underway.

We can all make a statement one way or another when we vote. However, that statement should be madeRead More on a state level not the local level. Boards of Ed are powerless to do any real cost cutting. The state needs to take this on. We need real reform in Albany to reduce the ever increasing pensions and life long benefits that educators enjoy. Combine this with letting Albany decide salary increases for all educators and we can guaranty tax reductions over the next few years. Its that simple, Boards cannot do these. Lets get Albany to move on these NOW!
