Police: Nativity Scene Figures Stolen in St. James

Two plastic wise men stolen from nativity scene set up by the St. James Chamber of Commerce.

Police are investigating the recent theft of figures from a St. James nativity scene as a hate crime. 

Police are asking for the public's help to find who is responsible for stealing two plastic wise men from the nativity scene located at the intersection of N. Country Road and Lake Avenue across from the St. James Fire Department. 

The theft at the nativity scene, which is set up by the St. James Chamber of Commerce, occurred sometime between Monday and Tuesday, police said.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
