Police said on March 12 a man walked into the Nesconset CVS on Smithtown Boulevard and took three bottles of Similac baby formula off the shelves. The man allegedly walked out of the store without paying for the bottles, valued at $77.97.

The man is described as appearing in his mid-30s, standing 6-feet tall, and wearing a black shirt and khaki pants. Witnesses said he fled in a green Ford Explorer.

Oh almost forgot - I received an email from CVS corporate following my email regarding attempt from community members to reimburse the store. They said they were investigating how the incident was handled internally. I suppose we will have to see if that goes anywhere.

And I have over 20 years in Neonatal so your point is what?

Sorry, thought my point was obvious. I have navigated the entitlement systems in NY for many years, and can state factually that there are always people who are in need, but not eligible for services or who are unaware how to apply for them. In particular, people with disabilities that prevent them from understanding complicated forms and procedures. I would not assume to know anything about the good work you do in Neonatal care. Try being a little nicer! God Bless.

The people that I have dealt with know EXACTLY how to navigate the system. Not personally attacking you but I get a little heated during these types of conversations because nice people like you who give people the benefit of the doubt are the one's that get taken advantage of. Especialy churches and it really pisses me off and I'm not even religious. People need to start opening their eyes because there's a lot more abuse going on than you think. I've been watching it go on for 2 decades now. Here's a great article that all of you may be interested in: http://www.wftv.com/news/news/21-arrested-in-black-market-baby-formula-bust/nJfkd/

I read that article - thank you. The thieves were quite organized with the worst of intentions. I still do not think it compares to the man in CVS who took two cans. We may learn differently. Don't worry your head about nice people like me - I am very content expecting the best from people. I do not hesitate to express my disgust for the ones that disappoint me! My husband is a retired NYPD - I have heard it all!
