Smithtown Man Arrested for DWI

A local resident was pulled over on Sunken Meadow Parkway and arrested after failing sobriety tests Wednesday, Feb. 9.

A Smithtown resident was arrested on Sunken Meadow Parkway for DWI and other traffic violations Wednesday, Feb. 9.

According to a New York State Police report, Scott Blum, 46, was driving erratically in a gray Mercury northbound at approximately 6:44 p.m. when he was pulled over by a trooper. 

After smelling a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage, Blum failed sobriety tests, producing a breath sample with a blood-alcohol content of .08 percent.
