Crime Report: Stolen Laptops, GPS Units and More

The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

 

Suffolk County Police Department Fourth Precinct reported these arrests and incidents in Smithtown during Dec. 9-15.

Gabriel Miguelez, 36, of Huntington, was arrested on Dec. 15 in Smithtown on two charges of fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, a misdemeanor; and one second-degree criminal impersonation, a misdemeanor. Reports state Miguelez was in possession of stolen items that include a wallet, GPS, laptop, and a hard drive, and gave officers an incorrect name when approached by them on Dec. 15.

Miguelez was also arrested on Dec. 14 on charges of grand larceny, a felony; third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a felony; seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor; and five charges of criminal possession of stolen property, a misdemeanor. Reports state Miguelez was in possession of a hand gun and an undisclosed controlled substance.

Christopher Loeb, 26, of Smithtown was arrested on Dec. 14 in Smithtown on fourth-degree grand larceny charges with property exceeding $1,000, a felony; five charges of fifth-degree possession of stolen property, a felony; grand larceny, a felony; and two charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor. Police said Loeb was also arrested on Dec. 15 on two charges of posession of two fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property charges, a felony; and fourth-degree criminal possession with a credit card, a felony. Reports state Loeb was in possession of stolen sunglasses, gift card, and a GPS unit.

Police could not confirm whether or not Miguelez and Loeb were working together.
