Bishop, Altschuler Debate in Smithtown

Friendlier tone reported at Fairfield at St. James debate hosted by the League of Women Voters of Smithtown.

As Congressional candidates Rep. Tim Bishop and Randy Altschuler kicked off their debate schedule last week on the East End, Monday night they took to St. James, where the League of Women Voters of Smithtown hosted a debate at the Fairfield at St. James community.

According to Newsday the debate played a more cordial tone than previous debates between the two, attributed mostly to the debate format and the questions asked.

Bishop, D-Southampton, according to the report praised Altschuler's work ethic. Meanwhile the Republican from St. James gave a nod to the Democrat's conviction in his beliefs.

"Why are Smithtown teachers continuing to pay for school supplies out of their ownRead More pocket?" Since when? Ever see the big list of supplies kids get in their folders at the end of the year for them to bring in next year? I think you're talking about the wrong school district.
