Chamber to Host 'Meet the Candidates' Event

Locals can meet 10 political candidates at the Brush Barn Thursday morning.

Locals will have the chance to meet town council, legislative, county executive, and court judge candidates Thursday morning at the Brush Barn in Smithtown, courtesy of the .

The event begins at 11:45 a.m. at the , located at 211 East Main Street.

Candidates participating are town council incumbents Edward Wehrheim and Robert Creighton, as well as their opponents Howard Knispel and Teresa Haft, County Executive hopeful Angie Carpenter, 12th District incumbent Legis. John Kennedy Jr. and his opponent Martin Aponte, 13th District incumbent Legis. Lynne Nowick, County Court Judge John Kelly and his opponent Richard Ambro.

According to Barbara Franco, executive director of the chamber, the candidates will have four-to-five minutes for a presentation, followed by at Q&A with the audience.

Lunch is provided for $20 by , and the chamber is asking attendees to bring food items to donate to the .
