Calling all residents to our Rally to Stand Up for Religious Freedom and our First Amendment.  Saturday, August 4th at 10 am.

Stop the HHS Mandate!  Stand Up for Religious Freedom!

Join the Long Island Rally for Religious Freedom

Event: Stand Up for Religious Freedom Rally

When: Saturday, August 4th at 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM

Where: H. Lee Dennison Building, 100 Veterans Memorial Hwy., Hauppauge, NY

Contact: Grace Colucci, gccolucci@aol.com

On August 4th, faithful citizens from across Long Island will gather in prayer and public witness in Hauppauge to oppose the HHS Mandate and stand up in defense of our religious freedoms.

On August 1st the timer will start.  The Catholic Church will have one year to decide how it will   violate it’s conscience as America bows to the HHS mandate giving up its 1st amendment rights.

Join the Rally in Hauppauge and say NO to the new U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Mandate, which forces employers—including religious charities, hospitals and schools—to provide free contraceptives and abortion-inducing drugs in their health plans.

Stand with our Church.

Stand with our Founding Fathers.

Stand up for America’s Freedom of Religion, Saturday, August 4th at 10 AM until 1 PM

The 1st Amendment:  “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peacefully to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.”

Pope Benedict XVI   "The spirit of our age is profoundly secular and secularism accepts religion - if it accepts it at all - only on its own terms.  Under this view, religion is subordinated to the political interests of the secular state and it is precisely this subordination of religion to the state that the First Amendment seeks to prevent."

Archbishop Charles J. Chaput, Philadelphia  “While Americans presume that the Constitution guarantees their rights, in practice our rights survive or disappear based on how firmly we defend them.”

How, in a period of rapidly declining enrollment, can costs be increasing so much from year to year,Read More you ask? The answer is in front of you in black and white. I urge you to READ your district’s budget: we are funding retirements when many of us cannot afford to fund our own during difficult economic times. These wheels were set in motion by contracts negotiated in times of unrealistic growth that may likely not occur again. It is time to open up these plans and relieve this unfair burden from our shoulders. Whatever other measures are pursued in order to control costs, including consolidation within and eventually with other districts, are never going to be enough if you cannot get this problem corrected. Write your congressman, for the love of God. If you need any more incentive to do so, please go to http://rocdocs.democratandchronicle.com/database/teacher-pensions-new-york and look at what Smithtown’s retirees are collecting MONTHLY. It will sicken you.

Tomorrow is the vote..vote NO NOW or our taxes are going to continue to sky rocket. Unless we doRead More something this town will continue to spiral down. More taxes aren't going to help. We need to cut expenses and get ourselves on a fiscally responsible plan.
